IT LOOKS
(29/06/06)
Like we are going to play at the yorkshire house in Lancaster with '3d tanx' and 'The Heat' all for a measly £3, tis on the 13th July so be there or be somewhere else. We are on first so don't be late unless you don't want to see us, then be late.

THE NEXT
(28/06/2006)
Thing on our agenda is to make a video version of 'groovy' in its updated live incarnation, which is fairly different from the recorded version. Watch this space, well, that space, the space above this space.

ITS NEXT WEEK
(24/06/2006)
Here is our pop video of the museum of famous corpses, created by nic villar and db. It was filmed by gonzoid's good friend Spike on his not a video camera camera, you know, just a regular digital one. Anyhow through the wonders of binary we are able to bring you our new arty video.
For some stuff about a prototype musical instrument/trigger device 'The Log' invented by nic and db see here then look under: categories: projects, then log(rhythm) one day were going to use it live.
The only other thing is that soon the music page is going to be reorganized to make it easier to use, we reckon its getting a bit too long so all will be archived under album titles etc.

ITS TOMORROW
(18/06/2006)
So here is krank kult leeder, its got brutal guitars. Back later with some photos from our last gig and coming soon is a video file of our good selves thrashing our way through 'The Museum Of Famous Corpses' at said gig, the only issue with it is its 55mb file size. Some might say its worth the wait, some might not!

SIMPLY BEEN
(17/06/2006)
too busy to add anything this week, back tomorrow with a rehearsal recorded version of krank kult leeder to be sacrificed upon the alter that is cyberspace.

NERVOUS
(11/06/06)
Once again its back in time to another track from 'Feeding The Scream Back' its called nervous and its kind of tense.

GIG
(05/06/2006)
Was totally hard work, mental note to self: a soundcheck is necessary so that:
a) you don't get deafened by Paul trying to hear himself,
b) Paul can hear himself instead of everything but himself,
c) you can hear yourself sing whilst playing and
d) you know whether the laptop is going to cut out in the middle of your opening number and subsequently or not (Thank the good lord for the blessing that is mp3 players).
The assembled throng enjoyed it though, proves you can get away with all sorts providing the audience are not over familiar with your work (Which raises some interesting possibilities for future shows). Don't you just love music, there's always something new to learn.. db

OH DANNY WE ARE NOT THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE ARE WE
(04/06/2006)
Especially when we see pop stars on tv with George Bush saving lives, which is an ironic twist to Bushes career, the man who in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere had his armies kill loads suddenly cares about AIDS in Africa and the West Indies, he must be after the un politically correctly named 'Black' vote. Anyhow here is the rehearsal version for your sonic delectation.

1.35pm
(02/06/2006)
Is the time we will be taking to the stage on sunday.

WE
(01/06/06)
have been asked to perform live this coming Sunday (04/06/06) at Lancaster Community Festival 2006 in Williamson's Park, Lancaster, and, as everyone knows, we are community spirited types so we are going to perform at it, It is a family day out kind of an event so we will be on our best behavior. Also we think its free entry which is a huge bonus. We will be road testing some new live material and it should be a blast, its in' the dell' which is a rather attractive wooded place where they usually hold plays. See you there.

AND(29/05/2006)
Next weeks update will be a rehearsal version of 'Oh Danny We Are Not The Beautiful People Are We' by friend of Gonzoid and human being in his own right Christopher Hallam. (One of my (db) all time top 5 favourite songwriters, I was lucky enough to play in a band with Chris somewhere in the 90's between the wars and I've been nicking his songs ever since)

HERE
(28/05/2006)
Is 'Wodgank' as recorded on thursday, we thought we'd have a competition and seeing as no one entered the last one make it totally impossible to win. So here goes with our impossible to win competition;
..... Within wodgank is a mistake, made by Paul because he's a totally useless **** (Add the expletive of your choice), to win our competition... find the mistake and let us know where it is. If you do and you get it right we will come around to your house and cook beans on toast for you, the catch is you must answer it using a system of hexadecimal representations of the musical stave, this system must be unique and devised by yourself, if two entrants derive the same system both will be disqualified, then you have to express the result verbally and translated into ancient greek, then just to make it hard you have to record the ancient greek, reverse it, sample it and then pitch shift it note by note to play Schnittke's cello concerto and we mean all four movements. Entries must be written one letter at a time on used £20 notes (i.e. 1 alphabetical character per £20 note) and sent to gonzoid@gonzoid.org, the internet, earth. E1 MP3.

THIS WEEKS
(26/05/2006)
Update on Sunday will be another live one recorded last night whilst rehearsing, 'Wodgank' indeed, just going to remix it and it will be here, incidentally the last live rehearsal one we put up has had the most downloads in the shortest period of time of anything we've put up here so far, its at present number 11 in the Gonzoid top ten....erm....that doesn't sound right, still, you get my drift. It has the added bonus of a mistake by Paul.

THE EP
(24/05/2006)
Will be available from August, to buy. It is now in the system so there is no turning back, we still have no gigs booked as well (Is that news? maybe its anti news). Has anyone found the top ten yet? Here is a link to it that will self destruct at some point. And we might not bother with a members area because its an absolute ton of hassle, the jury is out but being summer and not being rich enough to skive off work as often as we would like to it looks doubtful.

A TALE OF WOE
(20/05/2006)
Is the subject of this weeks song, recorded on the 4 track in about 1998 or 1999, they were tinny times, anyhow its the tale of our one time friend and ally Malcolm, he was the singer (Out of tune shouter is probably a more accurate description) in 'The Immoral Majority' a band formed by myself and the aforementioned Malcolm with Paul joining on guitar and Mally on bass, (though it never seemed an issue that we had two Mal's in the band). 'Song About Malcolm' cunning title eh? Its a cautionary tale about getting what you want out of life.

WE
(14/05/2006)
Wanted to put another live one up this week but what with the trees and everything it hasn't happened, Paul wants to put up 'Do Pray' as this weeks update, so called because a lot of it was made with samples of Jacqueline du'Pre, 'Do Pray' is something of an acquired taste so for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of acquiring it, also going up is 'Joy Of Violence' written by Jon Turner performed by db, a song from the 'c20 foxes' days of the early 1980's. These two songs are are about as opposite as it is possible to be.

WELL
(13/05/2006)
That was about the worst hay fever in living memory, so glad its raining today, apparently there is a huge cloud of tree pollen covering Europe, suppose the trees are entitled to have a go back at us given how cruelly we treat them. db

WE HAD
(11/05/2006)
The gonzoid top ten as calculated by download before, we must have left it somewhere. (i.e.weve hidden it somewhere on this site)

TODAY
(09/05/06)
We had our first listen to WTFD's final mixes for our forthcoming release, they have done a great job with some pretty dodgily recorded masters, well done to all concerned and it just goes to show that you don't have to spend a fortune to make a lot of noise and record it. In time these versions will be put on myspace and here, thing is its full on with the vegetables at the moment so there isn't much (Time that is)

A TREAT
(07/05/06)
Today's update is our live rendition of slightly dumbfounded. We recorded this while rehearsing last Thursday, this is only going to be up for a week or two until it goes in our soon to be constructed members area, where we will have recordings of rehearsals, video footage and a bounty of other crap we haven't dreamed up yet. We wanted to put this up in case any promoters are looking in and want to book us, we need gigs, we've been diligently rehearsing a set and now we have nowhere to perform it.

BY THE LOOKS OF IT
(06/05/06)
Our e.p. will be available in 8 more weeks, all the work is done and we now have to wait for it to be processed. Exciting times indeed.

HAPPY MAYDAY
(01/05/2006)
The good thing about Mayday used to be the huge Mayday parade in Red Square when communism still existed, shame it died, it used to make good viewing. Just in case it isn't dead Happy Mayday Communists.
