ALSO (26/02/2006)
We have now a guestbook so please feel free to sign it and leave any messages
you feel appropriate or inappropriate as the case may be. If you leave us a
functioning email address we will include you on the mailing list so you can
be kept up to date with any Gonzoid goings on that may be relevant.
At the moment we are busy working on more stuff to play live. We felt
like we were just getting into it when our set finished at the last gig so we
aint doing anything else live until we have enough material sorted for at least
an hour. Also we have a myspace
site which you may want to visit.
SUNDAY'S (26/02/2006)
Song this week is 'Hippies
mediating sweet dessert' which started life as 'Hippies meditating in a
sweaty desert' it features some backwards speeded up Tuvan
throat singing though its hard to tell the difference between the same piece
played forwards. The percussion is played by Paul using his
wedding ring on the back of an acoustic guitar. This one was recorded in the
summer of 2000, on 4 track so the quality is a bit dodgy.
THIS TIME (19/02/2006)
The new tune is called 'Numbers'
we borrowed Stephen (microsoft sam) Hawking to recite some really really
big numbers on this one. We recorded this about 3 years ago which makes it one
of the first of the Hamfattery project. We put a couple of photo's from Fridays
gig up on the pictures page as well.
AND FURTHERMORE (19/02/2006)
Im sure everyone will join me in wishing Paul a totally happy birthday today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
DUDE! please email for details of where to send money, vintage guitars
or any other stuff you may want to give him as a present.
LAST NIGHTS (18/02/2006)
Gig was a resounding success, given the lack of a decent soundcheck
(Well done to the sound engineer and his assistant who clearly have the patience
of saints, reminded me why I gave up being a sound engineer...db) the upfront
sound was also apparently fine. Big thanks to all who attended and cheered us
on. Certain individuals asked about the availability of Gonzoid cd's, well,
if you email us we'd be glad to send you one for a nominal charge to cover postage
etc. Otherwise you could just go to the music page and download stuff for free,
though I advise you do it soon.
THIS WEEK (12/02/2006)
we offer another old recording 'Bat' was
recorded with someone who I used to believe was a friend (Surprising how people
change when they owe you money) now he refuses to make contact and slurs my
good name to mutual acquaintances who lack the necessary testicles to stick
up for me (though not the necessary to bring the subject up with him in the
first place). Some people eh! It was recorded in a dilapidated old hall in the
borderland somewhere near Scotland. db
THOUGH WE WILL (11/02/2006)
be playing at feedback on the 17th Feb. at Korners
WEVE BEEN (09/02/2006)
Offered a deal with WTFD records which were going to sign.
THEN AGAIN (09/02/2006)
Maybe we wont be playing a short set of 20 min's on the 18th Feb..
Due to circumstances that have nothing to do with us the gig has had to be cancelled.
I MUST 07/02/2006
recommend these blue pills 'Cefaclor' to anyone who wants to have visions
of twisted and mangled fleshy monsters every time you close your eyes, it really
is the most bizarre thing, aside from the fact that the last few days have seen
me utterly devoid of the last vestiges of sanity I possessed, these little blue
pills have certainly given me a few ideas for some tunes when Im well enough
to hold a guitar again. To anyone or anything I may have offended
in the last few days all I can say is it wasn't me it was barely even my shadow.
AT LAST 07/02/2006
The gig date is set, for 18th Feb. at Korners, all are welcome, (Though
we will only be playing a short set of about 20 min's) We will be happy to play
anywhere else to, and maybe for a little longer than 20 min's.
THE REASON 06/02/06
That no update appeared for Sunday 5th Feb. is that I'm currently as
ill as i can ever remember being, some nasty species of microbial life has taken
up residence in my lower lungs, I have some scary looking blue pills that Im
hoping will remedy this (The illness that is not the update, I've put groovy
up to remedy that)
THOUGH 01/02/06
The gig might be on the 17th Feb. and at a different venue, one which
is bigger and has a built in audience. Details will be posted soon as we know
them.
On a sadder note, Deans site collectiblehandofreptillianjoy
is to cease to exist in favour of a myspace site, we at gonzoid hope the myspace
site is as good as collectiblehandofreptillianjoy
was and will post the new address for deans work as and when he tells us what
it is.
SO 29/01/2006
Once again we reach the weekly new song, and this week we have ''i
dont care'' which is kind of an anti-love song, this is the rejuvenated
version in that, as is so often the case in cubase, some of it vanished.
The gig on the 18th feb will also be featuring deans
new duo and possibly a signed mystery duo!!!!???? with some dj's doing dj stuff.
P.S. 27/01/2006
We are also offering some cds of our music with the banana prize (Posted
separately)
IT SEEMS 22/01/2006
That we will be making our live debut at ''Korners'' in Lancaster on
18/02/2006
MORE BACKWARDS VOCALS 22/01/2006
Sunday again and this week we have another copyright breaching sampled vocal.
''Earl I Feel Ye'' features the
inimitable talents of the mighty captain beefheart (Backwards). There will be
a prize of an autographed banana, to be posted to anyone who can email us the
identity of the song the vocals are ripped off from. (Though we accept no responsibility
for the state of the banana after those hamfisted buffoons at the post office
have had their hands on it.) Enjoy.....
BACK TO THE PAST 15/01/2006
This weeks tune is the affectionately titled ''Weird
Screaming Thing'' with screaming cobbled together from a horror sound effects
cd. We recorded this in about 1998. Also we've put back up all the tracks that
have been up since the site was built for any newcomers who may have missed
them.
Enjoy.......
ON THE SUBJECT OF TIME 08/01/2006
It seems that using some kind of chronological system (Other than the
further down you go the older it is), like the date or something might make
these items appear more logically presented.
TIME TRAVEL (AGAIN) 08/01/2006
After all these tunes from the past this week we thought we would have
one from the future. This weeks tune is ''Alberts
grurdge'' this is the first draft done in reason and is Paul's work entirely.
This is the next tune were going to record properly and I cant wait to get my
teeth into it. db
IT MUST BE SAID 05/01/2006
Rehearsals for our debut gig at deans
night are going well
PAUL SAYS HELLO 05/01/2006
''HHHHELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!''
HISTORY LESSON
Here we are again, another song from the past. In line with the whole
festive season thing this weeks offering is ''Priest''
I wrote this song about a priest I met whilst working in a crematorium.
I didn't like him very much. I played all the instruments myself though the
lead guitar is based on the lead guitar Paul played on an earlier version. This
too was recorded on 4 track in about 1999. Enjoy.......
db
