A CAUTIONARY(27/08/2006)
Tale about what happens when you do things you shouldn't ought to do. This was
the second recording on the 4 track so its really early in our gonzoidy existence.
I suppose I should dedicate it to the recently deceased Syd Barrett as its about
acid casualties, though I don't recall him ever dedicating anything to us, maybe
he was too busy. Acid Kid freak out
enjoy.
LESS(20/08/2006)
Nervous than on nervous
for reasons I cannot explain here though the two seem to fit together quite nicely...OR
... today's update is less nervous
which is the companion tune of nervous (Believe it or not....) its a bit rickety
but Im sure your used to that. We now have, all bar a couple of minor tunes, put
up the 3 gonzoid demo albums in their entirity, therefore we better start recording
some new stuff or were going to run out of updates.
WE WOULD(16/08/2006)
Like to welcome our 5000th visitor of a couple of days ago.
DISAPPEAR(13/08/2006)
Hello world this is Disappear
We made the text disappear to coincide with it, its the most tinnily recorded
thing ever and 4 track quality of course
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
SEEING(06/08/2006)
As how were a pop group we thought we'd put some of our more not pop
group stuff up so here is 'tuning up',
so called because that's what it sounds like, not because that is how it was written,
it underwent the usual gonzoid writing process for this type of tune back in the
4 track days, we turned the tape on and played, then overdubbed with no planning
and no preconceived idea of what we were going to do.
This is a common Gonzoid pre rehearsal noodle, even to this day. We at Gonzoid
love this kind of track, I mean, everyone loves ham fisted inaccurate sloppy discordant
guitaring don't they!
CONFUSED(30/07/2006)
Or should I say 'confusing' is the
title of this weeks tune, its sort of a country and western song in a ham fisted
sloppy sort of way. Its from the old 4 track recordings in the 'feeding the scream
back' period of our existence. Its probably the most inaccurately played recording
ever, and badly recorded too, who could ask for anything more?
APPARANTLY(26/07/2006)
We are a pop group, Audio Lunchbox have listed our ep as such, were simply
going to have to write weirder harder edged music.
THIS(23/07/06)
weeks update is another of the 'Music for leaving cinemas to' concept
tunes. Its called 'Totally
Dumbfounded' and it was recorded on 4 track so the levels are a bit all over
the place.
Our latest plan is to do gigs with 2 support acts, the first being Paul with a
set of guitar based techno racket, then me (db) playing an acoustic set of songs
we don't really do with gonzoid, then gonzoid. Pretty self indulgent eh?
Anyway this ones for you Wolfy.
AGAIN(16/07/06)
America gets another lyrical working over in this weeks song, 'America
The Brave' Its an old version from the last century which we have updated
for live use, it has Paul's classic Fucik solo and the last solo bit contains
db overdubbing more than 10 guitars and Basses. It is being pondered as a song
for our next release.
DESPITE(15/07/06)
Being labeled as a pop duo Thursdays gig was really good, all 3 bands were warmly
received and we all put on a good show, the sound was good and we recommend the
venue. We got video of most of the set and will be posting some songs on here
once the technical department have finished tinkering with it
IMAGINE(12/07/06)
Our disillusionment to discover on the eve of a gig that we are a 'Pop Duo'. We
at gonzoid resent this claim and vow to prove ourselves as un 'Pop Duo' as its
possible to be in all future dealings with the outside world. Though tomorrow
we will be doing Barry Manilows classic 'copa cabana', numerous Bronski Beat cover
versions, our version of spandau ballet's classic 'True', some Boyzone numbers,
a truly scrumptious version of 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round The Old Oak Tree' and
a spice girls tune or two, pop duo indeed.
ON THE DEATH OF COMMUNISM AND HITLER(09/07/06)
This week I (db) have put together a new/old track called 'On
The Death Of Communism and Hitler' The music was recorded
about 4 years ago in magix using hammerhead for the drums. (Its nicked from Bob
Zimmerman, sorry Bob, but somebody had to do it) the vocal track I put together
this morning. I played everything and did everything myself on
this one, I thought since Paul has been in Berlin all week (A thing Im totally
jealous of) I'd put a solo effort up to punish him for leaving his post.
P.S. Don't forget to come and see us play on Thursday unless your in another country
or something.
AND THEN(02/07/06)
It's tomorrow again, I replaced the live crank with a better vocalled one. This
weeks tune is called 'Reg' I cant remember
whether it was recorded in magix or if it was a final 4 track track, its a pretty
rough mix but hey you must be used to that by now.db
TELL YOU(01/07/06)
What, the vocals on crank live are far too loud, I just downloaded it to put it
on my new phone and it sounds awful, we do have email you know! i.e. why did no
one email in to say? its a multi track recording and can easily be made better,
it will be replaced tomorrow with an amended version.db
