Technical department have come up with a widget that will allow us to continue with our so far fruitless attempts at trying to engage you with us and our music. We know this guy and he said "Engage with your site visitors" so that's what were going to do, or die trying.

This widget will act as a chatroom with no sign in or anything, it will just be there so you can chat with us, if you so desire. Were not a million per cent sure when this will occur just kind of figured we would put it here at various times and if your visiting tell us what you think of anything.

We still had no takers for the write us some lyrics offer, to stimulate a good response we decided to offer a delicious sample of south american "Big Assed Ants" to enjoy whilst listening to your lyrics being put to music by us, We will even throw in a jar of db's legendary pickle to complement the ants, what have you got to loose? Drop us a line with any old dodgy lyrics that you have written, and we will put them to music, (the RNS files are still up for grabs too.)

There are sadly no pictures or anything else from thursdays gig, it was a bit of a disaster in some respects, we were so beset with technical problems that I had to halve my set and had no soundcheck, I basically sat down and had two microphones poked at me and played through the feedback till the behind the bar dude told me to stop allegedly I was good anyway.
( Note to self: when everything that can go wrong does go wrong start the set with a fast song not your slowest)

A personal note, last nights gig was another "You were really good considering" sort of an affair, taxi's and a surprising lack of wire caused vast delays hence no soundcheck and a much truncated set, I noticed that when people in the pub began to get rowdy if I sang and played quieter they became less rowdy. Despite a great deal of feedback and stuff all went well, I think.

Nearly time for my debut gig, I've got designs on doing 18 songs, including many Gonzoid tunes. As yet no-one but me has heard the set so I will be as interested as anyone to see how it goes down. So Britannia hotel Lancaster tomorrow night 8.30pm with dean mcphee playing his ambient fingerpicked drone folk, it says in the paper I'm a 'Gravedigging singer/songwriter' I sure do dig those graves yeh! or maybe it relates to the morbidly funereal dirges that I churn out in the guise of songs, who can tell, still it was in the paper it must be true. I'm sure there will be
photos a plenty
and videos too,
I will put them up

You know, 'slightly dumbfounded' gets dozens of downloads every month, its had 20 this month so far, we wondered if you folks out there in webland know we have a live video of us playing it on here? because that never seems to get watched at all, we understand if the thought of watching two ugly old codgers like us pretending to be guitarists is something you cannot bring yourself to tolerate but otherwise we thought you should know. A lighter note I will be making my debut as a solo performer on the 16th august at the local pub with Dean Mcphee. Its my way of punishing Paul for going to Cyprus this week. Rumour has it that Paul is also planning solo outings in the not to distant future, watch the space above for further details db

Want to make this site seem like an obituary column but I cant not mention the death my old mate and all round jazz loving film buff Phil Martin who sadly died last monday. Over the last 10 years Phil has been a permanent fixture in my existence and we went to hell together. Phil I will miss. db

I thought we might let you the site user write the lyrics, We will provide the melody you provided the lyrics, put them in the guestbook or email them to us leave them as a comment on our myspace page whatever just send us lyrics, the only proviso being write only a single line, then we will put them together and make a song out of them. See the thing is Paul has brought another cracking instrumental that would make a great song with words and since neither of us seem to have come up with anything I just had this mad idea to have a user generated lyric so please if you read this participate and if you choose to leave a name you can have a credit on the sleeve of the new ep I hope Paul doesn't mind!
